Session One — Hold the Patapsco Line

Session One — Hold the Patapsco Line

The Patapsco fabs had been on strike for three weeks. PMG hired Carrion to break it, and Carrion's people were moving on the picket at dawn.

Miss YvonneYvonne Dorsey, third-generation Sparrows Point, who runs the Local — sent a handwritten note to Morrigan, signed only the Lady. It named a time and a place and nothing else. The crew came in two groups, five minutes apart, and found her in the back room of a bar — no windows, plated walls, the noise of the place doing the rest. She did not ask for soldiers. She asked them to buy the line one more day.

What they knew going in

Before any of it started, Dread went looking for how PMG breaks strikes. He came back without proof, but certain of the shape of it. A strikebreak of this kind is not about clearing a picket line. The damage is the point: enough of it, publicly enough, that nobody in the Beltway strikes again, or only ever as a last resort. Carrion is paid for the deterrent, and PMG is paying for someone else's name to be on it.

That is what the crew took with them when they decided where to go.

The depot

They went after Carrion's staging depot: an unmarked fenced warehouse a block off the fab corridor, where everything for the morning was parked and waiting.

Shine walked the whole crew through the vehicle gate on a falsified work order. The guards never looked twice and the cover held. Inside, Coyote went looking for the depot's control room and turned up a PMG patrol instead. Aven talked them around — complained that the front desk had sent the contractors the wrong way — and one of the guards pointed out an old diagnostic junction box bolted to the back wall, a leftover from the fabs, never separated out when the corp split its networks.

Where it stopped

A little after three in the morning, inside the fence, unnoticed, with the trucks rolling at four.

Mercy, Coyote, and Aven are at the junction box, going into the network to cripple the depot from the inside. ATP, Shine, and Dread are out among the staged vehicles and gear. The depot is not finished.

Where they ended

Free Signal, a Sappers cell working out of Morrigan.

Turf was settled before the night began. The crew cleared what they owed the Free Stack rather than taking the claim by force, which converted the lease into something they own and emptied their pockets doing it. It was their first claim, so the effect landed twice over.

Nobody is looking for them yet.
